Synopsis
Charlie quarrels with a flirtatious father in the park, then wins an invitation home from the man's wife and daughter. Recognition leads to another fight and a hurried change into women's clothes. With the daughter's help, he sustains the disguise long enough to expose how quickly the father's hostility changes when he believes a new woman has entered the room.
Cast
Historical context
The costume change turns an intruder into an object of attention without altering the person underneath. Chaplin uses the disguise to redirect a domestic power struggle and reveal the father's contradictory behavior.
