Départ de Jérusalem en chemin de fer

Synopsis

As a train leaves Jerusalem, the camera moves with it past people gathered beside the railway. Farewells and changing faces slip through the frame, preserving a departure from a passenger's perspective.

Behind the scenes

Alexandre Promio placed the camera on the moving train. The view is an early example of filming travel through the camera's own movement rather than from a fixed position.
