Synopsis
Revived in an imagined 1980, a man from 1930 discovers a New York of aircraft, numbered citizens and tightly regulated relationships. He joins two younger men whose romantic plans are obstructed by official rules. Their troubles lead beyond the futuristic city into a musical science-fiction adventure shaped by the comic surprise of everyday inventions.
Cast
Behind the scenes
The elaborate Art Deco city was constructed as a large miniature with thousands of lights. Its dense aerial traffic and towering buildings turn the production design into one of the film's principal attractions.
