Synopsis
A factory supervisor's rescue of two workers brings him to the attention of the owner's wealthy family. Refusing a cash reward makes him more intriguing to the magnate's daughter. Attraction across the class divide raises questions about independence, work and the terms of belonging.
The pre-Code drama reverses a familiar dependence by examining a man drawn into a wealthy household. Its industrial opening keeps paid work visible within a romance shaped by unequal resources.
