Synopsis
Andy Hardy returns from military service eager to resume college and the romance he left behind. His family welcomes him home, but familiar surroundings do not mean that everyone has stood still. A series of courtship complications challenges the future he has already planned and gives his father another opportunity to offer guidance.

Mickey Rooney returned to the Andy Hardy role after serving in the army. The film therefore brings a prewar screen adolescent into a changed postwar moment, though contemporary reviewers disagreed about how far the character had actually matured.
