Synopsis
Two exhausted survivors emerge from the desert with a story of a secret laboratory on an isolated mesa. A scientist there has crossed human and spider characteristics in an attempt to create a new form of life. Their account retraces the encounters that brought a group of travellers within reach of his experiments.

Behind the scenes
Herbert Tevos's original production was completed under the title Tarantula but failed to obtain distribution. Ron Ormond later added material for the released version, leaving the film with two directors and a conspicuous mixture of narrative approaches.
