Synopsis

Two federal agents investigate narcotics stolen from a ship in New York harbour. A potential informant's death sends them through railway lockers, nightclubs and waterfront businesses toward the organisation's leader. Surveillance and undercover work become increasingly hazardous as the smugglers discover how closely the authorities are following their cargo.

Behind the scenes

Location filming and explanatory narration give the police story a semidocumentary presentation. Yul Brynner made his feature-film debut as the smuggling organisation's leader, before the stage and screen roles that established his familiar later image.
