Synopsis

After hearing a shot, an architect encounters a fleeing woman who forces him to drive her away. He later returns to the scene, only to find that the corpse has changed. A courtyard of shops, a valuable Egyptian chest and the woman's own business draw him into a mystery in which appearances keep shifting.

Behind the scenes

The shops and passages of Hollywood's Crossroads of the World supplied the setting for the fictional Hamilton Court. That enclosed commercial space gives the modestly budgeted mystery a compact world of neighbouring suspects and intersecting routes.
