Synopsis

Mary needs a better job to support her family. When she sees an advertisement seeking a nightclub hostess with an interesting past, she borrows the identity of a famous dancer caught in a scandal. The deception secures her employment and attracts a wealthy admirer, but makes it increasingly difficult to separate her real feelings from the glamorous life she has invented.

Cast

Historical context

Mae Murray stars opposite Rudolph Valentino before the films that established his later romantic image. The comedy turns publicity and a supposedly scandalous reputation into practical tools for a working woman's search for employment.
