Synopsis
A restless teenager is sent from a restrictive Florida home to a girls' boarding school in New York. The change of setting offers new opportunities for flirtation and invention rather than the obedience her father expects. Pretending to be older draws her toward a sophisticated man and a tangle of appearances she struggles to control.
Olive Thomas's performance helped bring the image of the independent, fashion-conscious young woman to the screen as the 1920s began. The film approaches the emerging flapper identity through adolescent experimentation and the gap between an assumed persona and actual experience.
