Synopsis
After a cabaret killing, a wounded marksman recounts the events behind it. His disciplined stage act had depended on an assistant and her husband. Attraction to the woman changed that balance, turning professional precision into an instrument of deception.
Vicki Baum's Big Shot supplies the starting point for a story told in retrospect. Casting director Erich von Stroheim as the performer adds another filmmaker's imposing screen presence to Anthony Mann's production.
