Synopsis
A reporter investigates a series of Chinatown killings linked to a collection of twelve ancient coins. Behind the appearance of an ordinary shopkeeper, Mr. Wong believes that completing the set will secure extraordinary political power. The reporter and his companion follow the clues into a headquarters where their curiosity may prevent them from leaving.

Inspirations
Harry Stephen Keeler's 1928 story The Strange Adventure of the Twelve Coins of Confucius supplied the starting point. This villainous Mr. Wong is unrelated to the detective in Monogram's later series. Bela Lugosi's casting and the invented Chinese conspiracy reflect Hollywood's contemporary exoticism and racial stereotyping.
