Synopsis
A toy-maker's story opens onto an Oz ruled by scheming officials while its people await a missing princess. Political intrigue and slapstick reshape the journey from an ordinary world into fantasy. The familiar destination hosts a markedly unfamiliar adventure.
Larry Semon's film departs substantially from L. Frank Baum's novel, adding characters and replacing much of the plot. It is best approached as a separate comic interpretation, not an earlier version of the later MGM musical.
