Synopsis

Botany student Harold is summoned to San Francisco in the hope that he has inherited his police-captain father's investigative skills. His enthusiasm for fingerprints unsettles the station before he is sent after a mysterious Chinatown crime leader. A young woman and her brother connect his accidental adventures to the case.

Cast

Behind the scenes

Harold Lloyd's first talking feature was made in both silent and sound versions. Its Chinatown mystery uses racial stereotypes common in the period's American crime comedies.
