Synopsis
A writer and a schoolteacher find their marriage worn down by debt and frustration. He seeks escape in Shanghai nightlife and a new relationship, while their young daughter is caught between adult choices. The abandoned wife must build an independent life as the writer discovers the cost of confusing glamour with happiness.
