Synopsis
A murdered gangster accepts the Devil's offer to return to Earth in the body of a judge who looks like him. The bargain should destroy an honest man's reputation while giving the criminal a chance at revenge. Instead, occupying a life built on trust exposes him to loyalties that make the arrangement increasingly unpredictable.

The original title, Me and Satan, was replaced because the producer worried about its commercial appeal. This supernatural comedy was Archie Mayo's final film as a director, closing a career that had moved through crime, melodrama and comedy.
