Synopsis

A boxing champion is accused of a killing committed by his manager. Advised to disappear, he loses both his public identity and the people he trusted. The fugitive must build a life beyond the image that once made him valuable.

Cast

Inspirations

The film revisits material previously adapted as The Life of Jimmy Dolan. Busby Berkeley directs John Garfield in a crime drama far removed from the elaborate musical choreography for which Berkeley is best known.
