Synopsis
Disappearances in the Florida swamps are first attributed to familiar dangers and local grudges. A game warden becomes dissatisfied with those explanations as more people vanish without trace. His search leads below the water, where unusual predators have found a way to keep their victims alive while feeding on them.

Behind the scenes
Bernard L. Kowalski directed this Corman production on a short schedule, using the Los Angeles County Arboretum for outdoor sequences. American International Pictures released it alongside A Bucket of Blood. The swamp setting and inexpensive creature suits place it firmly within the independent monster-film cycle of the late 1950s.
