Synopsis
Two men compete to help a woman cross a muddy street, each expecting gratitude before providing much assistance. A borrowed-looking umbrella is actually stolen, and another passerby solves the practical problem while the rivals are absent. Their return turns a supposed act of courtesy into a dispute over credit, possession and the woman's refusal to play the part they expect.
