Synopsis
Mamie becomes involved in a social reformer's efforts to improve workers' lives. Her investigation of a factory exposes child labour and dangerous conditions, while her relationship with its wealthy owner is tied to a family history neither fully understands.
Cast
Behind the scenes
The factory fire was staged at Fort Schuyler in New York. Contemporary reports describe a cameraman trapped on the roof who escaped by jumping into a rescue net.
