Cities and Years

Synopsis

Two men who once shared friendship and revolutionary commitment face one another across a new political divide. War and its aftermath have made earlier loyalties difficult to reconcile with demands for allegiance. Moving through their intertwined histories, the drama asks what remains of personal attachment when neutrality is treated as a form of betrayal.

Inspirations

Chervyakov adapts Konstantin Fedin's novel, retaining its interwoven periods and network of characters. The result approaches revolution through conflicting memories and private relationships rather than a single uninterrupted heroic adventure.
