The Club of the Big Deed

Synopsis

A gambler acquires a ring bearing three initials and uses it to invent an identity suited to the people he meets. During the Decembrist rebellion, an officer mistakes that symbol for proof of commitment to a revolutionary cause. Romantic loyalties and political conspiracies become opportunities for the adventurer, whose willingness to betray others gives the changing initials a dangerous meaning.
