Synopsis

Daniel Boone guides a group of families toward a new settlement in Kentucky. Their hopes are threatened by attacks and by a rival seeking control of the land they have reached. Boone must protect the community while navigating personal loyalties and a struggle over who will determine its future.

Historical context

The story uses Boone's historical reputation and a 1775 setting for a fictional frontier adventure. Its treatment of Indigenous people and settlement reflects the conventions of Hollywood Westerns in the 1930s, rather than a balanced account of the competing claims to Kentucky.
