Synopsis

Master Tom devotes himself to courting a white cat, leaving his household duties unattended. While he serenades his sweetheart, mice take advantage of his absence. The resulting trouble at home and the unexpected demands of his new relationship turn a romantic cartoon into a surprisingly dark comedy.

DirectorsOtto Messmer

Historical context

The short introduced the cat who became known as Felix. Produced at Pat Sullivan's studio, it sits at the center of the disputed creative attribution between Sullivan and animator Otto Messmer.
