Synopsis
An unemployed wanderer leaves the city and finds work on a cattle ranch despite having no relevant skills. His closest companion becomes a cow whose injured hoof he tends. When the herd is sent to market, saving his friend leads him from awkward ranch chores into the far greater challenge of guiding cattle through Los Angeles.
Buster Keaton makes the friendship with Brown Eyes the emotional centre of a Western comedy. The movement from open ranchland into crowded city streets turns the herd into both a logistical problem and an unusually large-scale source of physical comedy.
