Synopsis
In a colonial African settlement, Dawn loves a British prisoner while a local leader seeks to control her future. War, jealousy and claims about her ancestry determine who will act when she is placed in danger.
Cast
Historical context
The operetta relies on racist colonial assumptions, including the idea that ancestry determines a person's value. Although photographed in Technicolor, the feature survives in a monochrome copy.
