Gulliver's Travels Among the Lilliputians and the Giants

Synopsis

Gulliver encounters worlds in which his own size becomes extraordinary. Among tiny people he towers over his surroundings; among giants the relationship reverses. The short turns the traveler's changing scale into a sequence of visual encounters.

Cast

Behind the scenes

Méliès plays Gulliver and combines multiple exposures, miniatures and carefully separated camera distances. Some scenes were filmed in his garden so the performers representing Lilliputians could be placed far enough away to appear small.
