My Cousin

Synopsis

A poor plaster modeler proudly claims a famous tenor as his cousin, but the resemblance fails to secure recognition. His sweetheart begins to doubt him, and a visit to the singer's home only deepens the embarrassment. An errand boy's intervention gives the family connection another chance to be acknowledged.

Behind the scenes

Enrico Caruso plays both the modest artisan and the celebrated singer in a silent drama. The double role uses the opera star's image and resemblance as the basis of a romance that cannot rely on hearing him sing.
