Synopsis

An insurance salesman arrives at a millionaire's mansion too late to sell a policy: his prospective client has died. An unusual will requires the relatives to remain in the house, and the visitor is persuaded to guard the body. Disappearances and shifting suspicions turn the unexpected assignment into a comic mystery.

Pine-Thomas was expanding from action pictures into comedy, with Jack Haley as one of its leading performers. Boris Karloff was initially sought for the principal horror-associated part, which ultimately went to Bela Lugosi.
