Synopsis
An expedition travels to Cambodia to find and destroy a formula said to give absolute control over human beings. Rivalries within the group turn the search into a contest for possession. A disappointed lover sees the secret as a way to obtain the obedience and affection that ordinary life has denied him.

Behind the scenes
The Halperin brothers developed the film after White Zombie, but a dispute with a financier of the earlier production complicated its promotion as a sequel. A separate camera crew filmed background material at Angkor. The Cambodian setting is filtered through the exoticizing conventions of contemporary Hollywood horror.
