Synopsis

A financially desperate broker learns that he will inherit a fortune if he marries before seven that evening. His hurried explanation ruins a proposal to the woman he actually loves. As his associates advertise the opportunity to potential brides, a private misunderstanding grows into a public pursuit that sends him racing against both the clock and an expanding crowd.

Keaton adapts Roi Cooper Megrue's stage farce but expands its marriage deadline into an outdoor chase. The famous avalanche of rocks turns the accumulating pressure of the plot into a physical obstacle course.
