Synopsis
A street photographer falls for a newsreel company's secretary and spends his savings on a second-hand movie camera. His first attempts at reporting produce technical disasters, but she encourages him to continue. A tip about events in Chinatown offers a chance to prove himself, while a more experienced cameraman competes for both the assignment and her attention.

This was Buster Keaton's first feature under his MGM contract, made while he still retained considerable influence over the work. Edward Sedgwick received the directing credit, with Keaton also contributing direction. The film entered the National Film Registry in 2005.
