Synopsis
A dry-cleaning worker borrows the appearance of wealth to attend every performance by his favourite actress. After another man rejects her, she impulsively marries her devoted admirer to provoke jealousy. The deception leaves him humiliated, but an unlikely journey at sea puts the pair together again under circumstances neither can control.
Keaton's second MGM feature was his final silent film, although release prints included synchronised music and effects. He had wanted a talking production; the completed picture instead carries his physical performance style into the sound era without recorded dialogue.
