Synopsis
A family outing by the river becomes a search when a rejected peddler abducts the young daughter. Hidden inside a barrel, the child is carried away in a wagon before an accident drops her into the water. The current takes the barrel toward further danger, leaving her rescue dependent on someone noticing what appears to be an ordinary floating object.
Cast
Behind the scenes
Griffith's first film as director was made for Biograph. The story joins a domestic threat to the movement of the river, allowing suspense to continue even after the child is hidden from both her pursuers and the viewer.
