A stagecoach robber searches the mail for clues to the whereabouts of the man who killed his brother. His private pursuit leads into a gold town, where a saloon singer and a sympathetic sheriff complicate the life he has built around revenge. Discovering his quarry also means facing the consequences of his own outlaw methods.
