Synopsis

A group of teenagers steals cars and dismantles them for a dishonest scrap dealer. Their quick profits depend on keeping the operation ahead of the police and an insurance investigator. As the thefts attract attention, the young thieves discover how little protection their adult buyer offers when the business is threatened.

Historical context

The film connects the juvenile-delinquency cycle with contemporary enthusiasm for customised cars and youth culture. Arch Hall Jr. leads the gang, while the adult market for stolen parts gives the teenagers' rebellion an organised commercial outlet.
