Synopsis

Two friends on a fishing trip offer a stranger a ride across the Mexican borderlands. He draws a gun and takes control of the journey. Their shared holiday becomes a tense effort to survive a captor who has already killed other motorists.

Inspirations

Ida Lupino's film draws on Billy Cook's 1950 crimes but changes names and circumstances. The real case supplies a point of departure for a tightly focused hostage story, rather than a complete reconstruction.
