Synopsis

Armand falls in love with Marguerite, a celebrated courtesan whose illness makes their possible future fragile. Leaving Paris together offers a brief escape from social expectations. When his father asks her to sacrifice the relationship for the family's reputation, she accepts a separation that Armand interprets as betrayal rather than an act of love.

Cast

Inspirations

Gustavo Serena and Francesca Bertini lead this Italian adaptation of Alexandre Dumas fils's novel. The conflict centers on a woman's willingness to absorb social blame while keeping the reason for her decision from the man it is meant to protect.
