Synopsis

An awkward florist's assistant discovers that his unusual plant thrives on blood. Its spectacular growth attracts customers to a failing shop and gives Seymour the attention he has always wanted. The improvement comes with a terrible condition: his demanding creation is getting hungrier, and keeping it fed becomes a full-time nightmare.

Behind the scenes

Roger Corman reused standing sets from A Bucket of Blood and filmed the interiors on an exceptionally short schedule. Charles B. Griffith wrote the screenplay and played small parts, while members of his family joined the cast. Jack Nicholson appears in a brief dental-patient role.
