Synopsis
Two travellers reach an Alaskan settlement and meet an unexpectedly hostile welcome. A woman explains that the town is divided by competing fishing interests. The newcomers must decide where to stand in a struggle that controls both work and local loyalties.

Rex Beach's novel supplied the conflict over the salmon industry. Filming in Ketchikan gave the adaptation an Alaskan location as well as a literary connection to the region.
