Synopsis
A family of confidence tricksters searches the Riviera for wealthy partners for its children. Their performance of respectability depends on discovering who has money and who can be deceived. New acquaintances begin to test whether the family can sustain its schemes without changing itself.
I. A. R. Wylie's The Gay Banditti supplies the con-artist family. Surviving screen tests for an elderly role preserve rare audiovisual records of stage performers Maude Adams and Laurette Taylor, although Minnie Dupree ultimately took the part.
