Synopsis
A disgraced American veteran returns to Italy to recover money he hid before going to prison. The country has moved on, and the people watching him have reasons of their own to care about his journey. An apparently simple retrieval becomes a tense negotiation with the consequences of his wartime choices.

This Italian-American production places an American crime-film lead among Italian performers and locations. Its mixture of filmmaking traditions gives the familiar pursuit of hidden money a postwar European setting; the Italian release used the title Tre passi a nord.
