Synopsis

Tom Sawyer treats his aunt's rules as invitations to invent another escape. He persuades other boys to whitewash a fence for him, trades his way toward a Sunday-school prize and tries to impress Becky Thatcher. His friendship with Huckleberry Finn offers still more opportunities to exchange respectable behavior for adventure.
