Synopsis

Scrooge dismisses charity, family affection and Christmas celebrations as distractions from business. At home, a warning from his dead partner begins a night of supernatural visits. Images of earlier choices, present suffering and a possible future challenge his certainty that money is the only thing he needs to protect.

Cast

Inspirations

This Edison adaptation compresses Dickens's novella into a single reel. Its stage-like arrangements and ghostly appearances offer an early screen interpretation of a story that would be filmed repeatedly throughout the following century.
