A Romance of the Redwoods

Synopsis

Jenny travels from New England to the California goldfields to live with her uncle, unaware that he has died. The man using his name is an outlaw who took his papers to escape pursuit. Her arrival forces the impostor to maintain a domestic role that is increasingly difficult to separate from his concealed criminal life.

Cast

Behind the scenes

Cecil B. DeMille directed Mary Pickford in a story photographed partly in California's redwood country. Wilfred Buckland's art direction contributes to the contrast between Jenny's expectations and the unfamiliar life awaiting her.
