Synopsis
Two bush pilots accept a mining company's assignment to locate a remote village. Their employer's private interests and his wife's connection to one pilot complicate the expedition. In the jungle they encounter a woman raised by the local community, whose past may explain why the search matters so much to the people financing it.

Historical context
The film uses the jungle-adventure convention of a white outsider raised in an Indigenous community. Its portrayal of the village and its people reflects the racial assumptions of that genre in the 1940s, while the mining venture supplies a conflict over outside intrusion and exploitation.
