Synopsis
A woman's husband dies during an argument over his mother's will. Afraid of losing her place in the inheritance, she conceals his death and enters a household dominated by an earlier family tragedy. Her scheme brings her close to a danger she has not understood.
Francis Ford Coppola developed the film after working on Roger Corman's The Young Racers. The opportunity arose from resources remaining after that production's Irish shoot, linking the thriller to Corman's economical working methods.
