Synopsis

A baroness secretly commands an airship and commits daring thefts under the name Filibus. When a detective takes the case, she plants evidence to make him appear responsible for her crimes. Moving between male and female disguises also allows her to court his sister, turning the investigation into an elaborate game over identity, attraction and who controls the available proof.

Cast

Historical context

The sky pirate belongs to the early cinema vogue for resourceful master criminals, but her airship and fluid disguises give the familiar pursuit a distinctive direction. The film treats modern technology as both a practical tool and a fantastic promise.
