Synopsis
A timid young man cannot stand up to a rival or declare his feelings to the woman he loves. His grandmother gives him a keepsake that she says once supplied his grandfather with extraordinary courage. Belief in its power leads him to confront dangers he has always avoided, including a criminal threatening the town.
The comedy makes confidence a developing character trait rather than simply a reason for isolated gags. Harold Lloyd's hesitant hero discovers the practical consequences of believing he can act, with his grandmother guiding the change through family storytelling.
