Synopsis
Two British brothers respond very differently to love and duty as the First World War approaches. Their German friend finds himself on the opposing side, while both brothers join the Royal Flying Corps. Aerial combat and a dangerous mission expose divisions that idealism and family loyalty had previously allowed them to overlook.
Cast
Behind the scenes
Howard Hughes began the production as a silent film and reworked it for sound during a long, expensive shoot. Jean Harlow replaced Greta Nissen as the female lead, while the ambitious flying sequences remained central to the spectacle.
